Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

My brows are definitely the most overlooked part of my face. Since the beginning of using makeup, I always focused on eye shadow and later liner because I thought that my brows are fine as they are. However, I slowly realized that my brows just don't look as nice as I thought (sparse in the end and a little messy) when I started college. My realization was there, but I still didn't do anything to make my brows look better. I have never tweezed my brows before because the tweezing part seems a bit painful. My mom always had tweezed her brows and my older sis has been tweezing since high school. No pain no gain right? I don't remember how this happened exactly, but I might have asked or my mom may have suggested that I tweeze my brow.  So on one summer morning, I closed my eyes and let my mom do the tweezing.  It was painful and I was a bit disappointed when I looked in the mirror. My brows looked cleaner, but I think she pulled out too much hair so my brows were pretty short.
I decided to grow them out and start to tweeze them myself. I mainly just tweeze out the little messy hairs growing not in line with my brows. After I started tweezing, I still thought that my brows were not the way I wanted it to be. So, I slowly started filling the sparse areas on my brows with brown eye shadow. That's how I started using makeup on my brows. I later switched from using eye shadow to brow pencil and used the pencil to define it. My brows do look better with the help of my brow pencil. The first brow pencil that I owned was from Korea. It is a dark brown color because black would make my brows look too intense. I think you're suppose to use a color a shade or two lighter than your hair color.
As my brow pencil from Korea was almost used up, I needed to buy a another one. I did some research and heard a lot of good reviews on Anastasia's products. After looking at their products, I decided to buy the brow wiz in brunette. Brow wiz is a twistable brow pencil and there's no need to sharpen it. This pencil also has a brow brush at the end. This brunette color looks very similar to my Korean one, so that's why I bought it.  I was a bit surprised when I opened the package because the pencil is very thin, just like pencil lead. I thought it would break easily and not last me long. Therefore, when I used this pencil for the first time, I didn't press hard and lightly filled in my brows. The pencil doesn't feel that fragile when I actually used it. Also, the color when applied to my brows does look like I used my Korean one. So, I am kind of glad that I bought the right color. I've been using brow wiz for a while and it is still going strong. Ever since using makeup on my brows, I felt more confident and my face does look more defined. Nowadays, I don't leave the house without using my brow pencil.
Overall, Anastasia's brow wiz isn't too bad, but I think I want to get a brow pencil that is slightly thicker. Even though I tweeze and use makeup on my brows, I still have room for improvement. One day I'll get the right shape for my brows.

P.s. - Brunette is now called dark brown.

J.R. Watkins Foot Repair Salve

As mentioned in my post a while ago, I bought a J.R. Watkins lotion and foot repair salve set. Winter is approaching and my foot has gotten more dry and rough. I had to wear socks to sleep just so I don't have to sleep uncomfortably with my dry/crack foot. My dry and rough foot reminded me that I had this foot repair salve and I want to give it a try.
The foot repair salve is packaged in a round tin container. It is made with peppermint oil and smells minty. The directions said to apply the foot repair salve at night and wear socks over your foot.  By tomorrow morning, your foot should feel a lot smoother. The salve feels oily, but not super oily to the point that you need to wash it off. I rubbed the salve on both of my foot and wore socks over them. The next morning I certainly did not see much results, but that is kind of expected since I only used it once. I continued to apply this every night and my foot does feel smoother and less dry/cracked. So, the foot salve is a pretty good product because I could see results and the ingredients are simple and natural. This winter doesn't seem too bad since I have my foot salve.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow

I haven't been shopping for quite some time at a beauty store. So I decided to get myself something little as a treat. I was walking near my favorite brands and I remember seeing this Josie Maran eye shadow before, but at the time I was not really interested in trying it.  The way this shadow separated (water on the top and shadow on the bottom) does not look like it would apply well. Also, I didn't have a lot of time to look at it closely so I didn't consider buying it.
This time around though I had a bit more time to look the shadow and a coconut water shadow is kind of interesting since I have never used one before so I decided to give this shadow a chance. The store had four colors and I carefully dabbed a little bit of each shadow on the top of my hand (I shook the bottle to mix the shadow and water). I went with rio de rose gold after testing out the colors.
This eye shadow is packaged in a glass bottle and has a cap on it, while the applicator(like ones used in lipgloss) is packed separately.  I shook the bottle to mix the contents well before applying. The directions said that a little goes a long way so I lightly dipped the applicator in the shadow. I used the applicator and dotted the shadow on my eyes. Then, I used my ring finger to blend the shadow. This eye shadow feels cool and is a shimmery pink gold ( looks more like a peachy gold on me). Unlike my shimmery powder eye shadows, the shimmer from this coconut watercolor does not fall out (so nice). I'm actually glad to have tried this out because I got more than I expected. This is truly the most unique eye shadow that I have ever owned so far.

P.s. I thought this shadow was made using coconut oil the first time that I saw it. (-_-'||)

Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer in Noir

My sister used rimmel's exaggerate eye definer eyeliner for awhile and it was because of her that I started using this liner a little more a year ago. The eyeliners that I have used in the past smears a lot and her eyeliner barely smudges so I wanted to give this a try.
This rimmel's exaggerate eye definer eyeliner is a retractable pencil and has a sharpener and smudger on the tip. Also, this liner is waterproof and said to be able to last for 10 hours. I have never put on just eye liner (always with primer and eyeshadow).  However, for a few days last year I didn't have time to put on eye shadow so I just put on primer and this liner. My sister always put on just eyeliner (no primer) all the time so I figured that I can do that too since her liner barely smears. Unexpectedly, the top of my eye lids was covered with smeared eye liner by the end of the day(wasn't really happy about that...). I thought to myself maybe this liner isn't for me.
But I decided to use it again since I have not used this liner with eyeshadow.  This time around my lids looked perfectly fine and the liner didn't smear on them.  My waterline did smear though, but it was definitely not as bad compared to the liners I used in the past.  From this experience, I found out that my eyelids are not suitable with just eyeliner and primer.  I have to use primer and eyeshadow together in order to have smear proof eyeliner.
I generally use this eye liner for quick makeup in the morning, formal events and on the go touch ups.  This eye liner does get dry, but it will be fine after sharpening.  Overall, this eye liner is a good buy for such good quality.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray

I had a mini benefit's stay don't stray primer for a while, but I forgot where I put it. So, I wasn't able to use it. A few days ago I remembered the primer and searched everywhere in my room in order to find it. I finally found the primer, which was in a drawer near my bed, after I sat down and thought real hard where it might be.
This primer has an applicator like the ones found in lip glosses and is a light/medium color. At first glance, the color of the primer looks like my UD one. However, my UD primer is colorless when applied, while benefit's primer would leave the light/medium color. Benefit's primer is also more on the liquid side and easy to apply. I think this primer would be a great base color and I later found out that benefit's primer can be used as a primer for concealer as well (pretty nice). Next time when I use concealer, I will use this primer and see how well it works.

Make Up Forever Mini Birthday Set

I got this little set as a gift for my b day with the liner and brush that I bought.  This set has a mini mascara and mini lipstick. The packaging looks like a brief case.
The mascara is called smoky extravagant and it is suppose to increase volume of your eyelashes. The brush has a round base and thin tip that resembles a pine tree. The tip of the brush is said to be able to emphasize and separate lashes. I used this mascara for my look today and was surprised on how great a rounded base is. The base definitely made my lashes look fuller right after I applied it, but my lashes didn't hold up to the volume and fell flat pretty fast. It might be my technique or my lashes might need a bit more curling. Overall, the mascara was not bad.
The lipstick is called rouge artist natural n9 and it is suppose to be moisturizing and provide a soft shine. I actually didn't want to use this lipstick at first because the color looks really dark. However, I already used the mascara so I thought to myself, why not use the lipstick as well. I applied it on my bottom lip first to check out the color and it wasn't really dark to my surprise. I guess there's no reason to not use it then. The lipstick does feel soft. This set is decent overall!

Birthday Diamond Candle Ring

After burning my birthday candle for three times.....I finally got my ring. I was so excited when I saw the foil wrap. The candle smells really good, so that's a plus. I blew the flame out and waited for the wax to cool off a bit. Then, I got a plastic fork and scooped it out. It wasn't too hard using a plastic fork because the wax was soft and warm. I slowly unwrapped the foil and the ring was inside a little plastic bag. I'm pretty sure it's a $10 ring. I was a bit disappointed at first, but I know that not every candle would have a real diamond ring. The thought of the candle is what makes the ring precious to me. The whole process of getting the ring seemed long, but it ended so fast :(... At least I got a new ring (it's actually slightly bigger than my ring size) and a very nice smelling candle.

Clarisonic Delicate Brush Head

I needed to replace my clarisonic acne brush head, so I bought the delicate brush head as a birthday gift to myself. The acne brush head isn't bad, but I haven't really notice a lot of difference so I decided to go with another brush head. The delicate one seemed like a great choice because it is made for mild exfoliation and sensitive skin. I have acne prone skin so I don't want any harsh or rough brush heads.
I have been using this brush head since two days after my bday. On my bday, I wanted to try the brush head, but I forgot to charge my mia2 so I wasn't able to use it. Normally, I exfoliate my face three days a week and I think that's good enough for me. I notice that the brush feels just like my acne brush head, very gentle. When I exfoliate my face, I don't tend to press really hard because it might stress my skin out. I'm liking this brush so far and I do feel that its help a little if not a whole lot (in decreasing blemishes).

Birthday Diamond Candle

Three days ago a package was sent to me and I thought to myself " I don't think I bought anything." So, I got a bit curious as to what it might be. After thinking for a while, I think that it might be from my big sis and it turns out the package was from her. This package was a belated bday gift. I pondered on what it might be before opening the package (mug, cup, picture related gift?).
I found out that I got a candle! It's not just any candle, but a birthday diamond candle :))  The candle smells really sweet, just like a real birthday cake. So, there's a diamond ring inside the candle that can be worth $10, $100, $1,000 or $5,000. My big sis has been giving me surprising gifts on my past few birthdays. I think she's really thoughtful on gifts sometimes. Anyways, I'd like to thank her the gift. I can't wait to see my ring. Get ready for the post on my diamond ring :D! (I think it's probably a $10 one, but that doesn't matter because the thought for gift is already enough).

Pillow panda and my candle <3

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I got Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate in a sample size from a previous purchase from kiehl. The ingredients and the description was why I chose to get this over other samples. This concentrate is paraben, fragrance and mineral oil free. It's suppose to restore the skin's healthy appearance overnight. I plan to use this concentrate after cleansing my face at night.
A few days ago I an out of my argan oil light so I started to this concentrate after cleansing my face. I used the dropper and put two drops of the concentrate on my finger. Then, I patted the concentrate on my face. The texture of it feels like argan oil, but of course the smell is not the same. I continuously used it for 4-5 days and I haven't noticed any difference. My mom lately has been saying that I have a lot of blemishes and I told her that I always have blemishes. After she said that though, I looked at my face in the mirror and did notice a lot of blemishes (more than normal). I wondered why because I haven't done anything different. My mom said that I may have been washing my face too much, but I didn't. So, instead I stopped using the concentrate and see if anything changes. My face didn't break out as much after I stopped using the concentrate.
Even though the concentrate has a lot of great benefits, it wasn't for me. I gave this concentrate another shot, but I broke out again. I guess this concentrate is not made for my skin :(   I'm a bit disappointed, but I at least gave it two chances.

It's The Time of The Year - Birthday!!

The time of the year where I feel older and thankful for just being able to to breathe: my birthday. Birthdays are a celebration of birth and also the courageousness of mothers. I'm sure my mom went through a lot when she carried me so I would like to thank her for everything that I have. For the past three years, I've been splurging a bit and bought beauty products as a present to myself. My birthday is the only day when I feel like I should give myself whatever I want (of course with a limit). This year I had a belated cake because I couldn't celebrate the day of...Anyways it was a mini chocolate cake. My favorite food is chocolate so I would eat any cake with chocolate in it :)  Also, the presents that I bought came in belated too. Technically, I got cake and presents the next day instead of the day of.
I bought myself the Tarte amazon waterproof clay liner in bronze (ran out of it during the summer) and a replacement brush head for my mia2. Since it was my birthday I also got a makeup forever gift set ( mini lipstick and mascara). Then, my sister bought me a little Josie Maran argan skincare ritual for me :)) I felt so happy even though I got them not on the exact day. Thanks little sis!! Can't wait to use my presents^^

Origins GinZing Mask

I bought this mask a while ago, but didn't really use it because of my eye. Originally, I bought this mask because I saw two ingredients listed on the website so I thought its a simple mask. However, I was quite surprised when the mask came in mail. I took a look at the ingredients and found a lot more ingredients than expected. That was when I realized the website chose to list two out of a bunch of ingredients that make up the mask. I was slightly disappointed. I guess the website isn't obligated to list every ingredient. So, I didn't use the mask after I bought it because I was afraid that it would irritate my eyes. Lately, my eyes felt better and so I wanted to try it. Even though the mask has a lot of ingredients, I still want to use it because it has ginseng and coffee.
Origins GinZing refreshing face mask is a wash off mask. The mask is a clear liquid and smells decent. I used the mask after cleansing my face and left it on for 10 mins. The directions say tissue off, which I kind of ignored and washed it off. By the time 10 mins has past, the mask was already dried so I wanted to wash it off. My face does look slightly brighter, but other than that the mask was nothing special. I don't dislike like the mask, but I guess I had more expectations. I'll continue to use it to see if I could get better results. This mask gets a c+.

Fresh Cucumber Mask

My love of masks hasn't changed at all. Since my eye prob though, I want to let my face relax and use more natural beauty products. So, I decided to go back to my pre- sheet and wash off mask days, which is using a fresh cucumber. Cucumber is an ingredient found in many different beauty products because of the benefits that it has.
I took the cucumber out the day after I bought it and carefully sliced them. Cutting cucumber is not such an easy task because the cucumber can't be too thick or else the skin won't be able to absorb the moisture. I sometimes tend to cut too thin, so the cucumber slices ends up being too small. I would use the smaller pieces for areas of my face that are hard to cover (sides of my nose). After slicing my cucumber, I just put it all over my face (not too pretty, but hey it works). I leave the cucumber mask on my face for about 15mins and take them off. Then, I take a few smoother pieces and rub it against my face. Lastly, I pat my face dry and put on lotion to seal the moisture. My face always feel so moisturized and bright after this mask :) I usually use the mask after my shower or at night after cleansing my face.

Lancôme Bi-facil Eye Makeup Remover

Remember my post on Lancôme's bi-facil eye makeup remover? Well, I bought the 6.8 oz bottle two weeks ago. The reason that I bought the full size is because I really like it. The remover smells good, wipes off fast and doesn't irritate my eyes :)  Actually, there's one more reason....there was a deal in Dillard's ( six piece gift with $35 purchase). I know I was going to buy the full size eventually so the deal made me get it earlier. The gifts that I got was a reusable tote, travel size cleanser, mini mascara and an eye cream. There was a fifth and sixth gift (lipstick and blush), but apparently I didn't buy enough to get it....sad. I mean there wasn't any signs that mentioned that I need to spend more in order to get the lipstick/blush. Oh well, I probably won't use the lipstick or blush anyways.
I think it's really awesome to be able to find things that I like because it brightens up my mood and makes me feel happy :) Isn't life about searching for or doing things that make you happy? I want to do things that make me feel great and of course I think you do too. One of the things that is making me happy recently besides finding fav beauty products is finding my hobby again. My little hobby that I stopped for two years is drawing. Drawing helps me express my feelings and mark down things that are happening that day or moment. I sometimes may get bored if I try to draw too much so I limit myself to 2-3 pages a day ( it's just that I will lose my creativity). I think I might share some of my drawings here in the future or maybe opening another blog....Idk. We'll see about that.

Josie Maran Black Argan Oil Mascara

From my last online makeup shopping, I got a travel size of Josie Maran's new black argan oil mascara. I have heard that you should change mascaras every three months so I didn't mind getting another mascara. I think mascara does make your eyes pop so I enjoy applying my mascara whenever I put on makeup. The brush of the black argan oil mascara is a five ball shape that can supposably reach every lash and the mascara is a 24hour wear. When I opened the mascara, the first thing that I noticed was the shape of the brush. I don't think I have had any mascaras with that shape so I find it unique. The mascara is easy to apply and doesn't leave any clumps. Also, it doesn't have a strong smell (great for people like me who has a slightly sensitive nose). I had the mascara on for an entire day and there was no smudge or fallout. But, I do need to try harder to reach all of my lashes. I feel quite satisfied :)

Tarte Best in Faux Lash Extending Fibers

In mascara advertisements, I always see the models with long and thick lashes so I always wanted to buy those mascaras in order to look like them. I thought their lashes were real but as I got older I realized that those lashes are either photoshopped or they're just fake lashes. I know that some people in real life do have lashes like that, which I am a bit jealous about. My lashes aren't really long and pretty thin. I use mascara to make my lashes look fuller and longer.  I've tried many different types of mascaras (drugstore, name brands), but my lashes only look noticeable. A year or two ago, I actually wanted to buy fake lashes to try because I saw transformation vids of Asians before and after putting on fake lashes and their eyes look so much bigger. However, I decided not to because I've seen people wear them and it looks fake. Also, my sister told me those lashes are a bit heavy. My last reason to not buy fake lashes is because I feel that I will get addicted (like I won't be able to not use them). So, finding good mascara is what I'm striving for.
Since my eye was having a bit of a problem, I wanted to get new mascara and I end up getting Tarte's best in faux lash extending fiber. This little set comes with a travel size lights, camera, lashes 4 in 1 mascara and lash extending fibers. I thought that this set included two mascaras when I bought it (should've read the description better). Yesterday, I wanted to use this set and that's when I found out that this set was something different. I have used the mascara before so I like it. The fiber was what really surprised me. I was brushing the fiber on my lashes and I was like that's not a mascara. I looked closely and re-read the box and I figured it out. So, the fibers were suppose to extend your lashes to make them look fuller (like what fake lashes do). The fibers feel very soft just like a teddy bear. I followed the 3 step layering: mascara, fiber, mascara. I feel like my lashes do look longer and fuller :)  the only thing about the fiber is that it's slightly messy. By the end of the night, some of the fibers fell on my cheeks. Other than that, I like the idea of the fibers. No need to put on fake lashes to get the look of fake lashes.

The gold one is the fiber and the little one is the mascara

Vermont Soap

Soap is a very important product and a part of many peoples lives. I don't remember a time when there wasn't soap in my house. Soap became more important to me when I got contacts because my hands have to be very clean. I get real nervous when I see that our hand soap has only a little bit left. That's what exactly happened a few days ago. I couldn't even squeeze a drop of soap to wash my hands :(  However, I found Vermont soap in my drawer when I looking for something else and I knew I was saved :)
Vermont Soap is a butter bar that is made up of organic oils. I had a few of them from a teens turning green giveaway. The soap has a pretty strong smell, but not in a bad way. It's a smell that I don't even know how to describe. It smells like the woods and soothing. I have really never used bar soaps so I put it away in my drawers and thought about using it later. Now I'm glad that I have them. Well, I have the soap but a not a container to hold it in so I put it on top of a piece of wax paper. I used it this morning and feel that it cleans better than liquid soap. It does make your hands feel dry so I moisturize my hands afterwards. I think I might want to switch to using bar soaps because they're different. Even though bar soaps might get messy but I don't care (at least for now).

Caudalie Grape Water

I ran out of my favorite liner two weeks ago ;(   So, I went online to sephora to buy my liner again, but it was out of stock (super sad). Therefore, I decided to wait till the liner is back in stock before buying from sephora. However, I changed my mind after a little bit. The game changer was my eye....
[ A few weeks ago, my eyes were getting really irritated, dry and bloodshot red after I took out my contacts. This lasted for a week, so I end up stop wearing my contacts and not putting on makeup. I washed my brushes after every use, but nothing worked. Also, the eye makeup remover made my irritated eye feel itchy so I had to stop putting on makeup. I suspect that maybe I should get new makeup, especially mascara (been using it for a while...). ]
Yeah, since my eyes are not doing so good, I need to buy new makeup. I end up buying mascara, a wash off mask and a grape water spray. The spray was actually a filler for me to get free shipping. I remember that I have tried samples from caudalie, but I didn't really like them though. I wanted to give this spray a try because it had really simple ingredients.
I started using this spray yesterday because my face always feel dry after taking a shower. The spray is fragrance free and I didn't feel any irritation on my skin. Also, there's no need to rub the grape water in. Today, I used it too and felt that my skin is moisturized and doesn't feel dry. I think this grape water spray is a decent product. I have seen Koreans use moisture sprays in dramas, but don't really understand why. Now I do :)

Update on my life: so, I started drawing again^^ I used to draw a lot and now I have time to get back to my hobby~~

Josie Maran Argan Oil Light

I really like Josie Maran's argan oil so I decided to get the light version to try. The argan oil light is travel size and the packaging looks nice. However, the light doesn't smell nearly as good as the original argan oil. I applied 4 drops of the light on my face just like I would with the original one, but I felt that the light was way too oily so I got disappointed. After a few days of application, I realized that decreasing to 2 drops would make my face feel less oily. The problem was not the oil but the size of the dropper. The opening of the argan oil light dropper is wider the original argan oil dropper. This realization helped me a lot because I was pretty unhappy with the light (I'm ok with it now). If I have to choose between the two, I would get the original argan oil. This light version gets a B-.

Lancôme's Mother's Day 6 Piece Gift - Bienfait Multi-Vital Sunscreen Cream

After almost a week living by with my travel size friendly personal care, I finally used Lancôme's sunscreen cream this morning. It's not because I'm lazy this time, but I brought with me another sunscreen cream which I have been using every morning. This morning I felt like I should at least try Lancôme's sunscreen cream since I especially packed it for this trip (doesn't make sense if I don't use it).
The cream is packed in a little jar, has SPF 30 and 24hr moisturization. I'm fine with using a cream in the summer because I don't use cover up as often as I used to, so my face doesn't feel super greasy. I opened the jar up this morning and the cream looks smooth and smells like flower.  The cream is very easy to put on, dries off fast and doesn't leave a sticky/oily feeling on my face. Even after a few hours, my face doesn't feel oily at all. I'm quite satisfied with this cream. I'll give this cream an A.

Lancôme's Mother's Day 6 Piece Gift - Bi-facil Eye makeup Remover

I finished my boots eye makeup remover like two weeks ago and planned on trying out  Lancôme's bi-facil eye makeup remover. However, I remembered that I was going to travel soon so I hold off on opening this remover up. The bi-facil remover is travel size and the cap is similar to the ones on medicines (ones that you have to push and turn). I shook it a bit to mix the two layers and opened the cap up with some difficulty. Once I had the cap opened, I smelled the remover and it smells like roses/flowers (love the smell). Like usual, I soaked a round cotton pad with the remover and placed it on my eyes. The oiliness of the remover feels the same as removers I've used before.  This remover is different from the ones I've tried because the time it took for the makeup to come off was less than 30secs and it dissolved a lot of the makeup away so I didn't have to rubbed my eyes too much. Also, I didn't feel any irritations from the remover. I would definitely give it a try! My grade for Lancôme's bi-facil remover is an A.

Lancôme's Black Gel Liner

It took me sometime to actually use this eyeliner because I had to get a brush for it. Unlike drug store brands, most high end gel liners in pots don't come with a brush. I bought a brush for the liner maybe a week or two after buying the liner, but then I got lazy so didn't use it until a few days ago.
The gel looks very smooth, but it doesn't smell too good. It has a little bit of a plastic-y smell to it. The liner is very easy to apply and dries fast (which is a plus). It stayed on my eyes really well all day (no smears or touch ups needed). Overall I'd give this liner a B+. I'm more biased towards gel liners than regular liners for no apparent reason (hmmm maybe there is and I'm not admitting to the truth...) oh yeah, so the brush that I bought wasn't as good as I thought :(  I might actually need to buy another one.

Lancôme's Mother's Day 6 Piece Gift - Summer Tote

Back in my high school days, I used reusable tote bags a lot because they are great for folders and binders. However, the downside to them is that there isn't any inside pockets to put little things in. Also, the ones that I use were made of thin materials so I can't really put my heavy books in them. Most of the time I end up putting just a few folders and notebooks in them and hold the books myself. Ever since I graduated from high school, I no longer used tote bags.
This Lancôme tote bag is my first one in a while. The design and colors are very fashionable and I think that it's great to use during summer time because the tote gives off a beach vibe :) Also, the material of the tote is pretty sturdy (feels sturdier than the ones I had before). I actually still haven't decided on when to use it (hint hint: not a beach goer..). Hmmmmm...how about an update when I use it?

Update:

I finally decided to use this tote to for my sketch book and color pencils :)

Lancôme's Mother's Day 6 piece gift - Mini Eyeshadow Palette

With the purchase of my Lancôme Lipcolor and eyeliner, I received a 5 piece gift from Lancôme. The gifts are a tote, mini mascara, travel size eye makeup remover, mini eyeshadow palette mini sunscreen and a mini eye concentrate. I really like the idea of free gifts with purchase because it just makes your shopping experience even better. Even though this gift set was a Mother's Day deal, my mom knows I'm really into makeup so she suggested that we (mom, dad, bro and me) should take a trip to the mall. Although, our shopping trip was short, it was very memorable as I mentioned earlier it was my first time drving my mom and dad to the mall.
For this post, I'm going to talk about the mini eyeshadow palette. This little thing has 4 eyeshadows and an eye liner. Also, it has a little mirror so I can still use it even when I'm done with the eyeshadow. The colors are bright enough that it would show up on my eyes, but not super bright. I really like the highlighter eyeshadow because it has a hint of glitter and can make my eyes pop. The powder eyeliner on the other hand isn't as good as I thought it could be. The liner has a lot of fallout and isn't as pigmented as it looks. My black eyeshadows are even more pigmented then this eyeliner. So, the liner was my only disappointment from the palette.

Top - all over lid
Right - lid
Middle - crease
Left- highlighter
Bottom - eye liner

Lancôme Rouge in Love Lipcolor

The mall is probably one of my favorite places to go to since my childhood. I remember that mom and dad would take us to the mall almost every weekend. Department stores are the places that first introduced me to high end/expensive cosmetic brands. I remember walking into the department stores and always saw the cosmetic counters near the entrance of the mall. Those counters intimidate me a lot because of the ladies there and I felt that makeup is for adults only. So, I always can't wait to walk past those counters and go find my favorite clothing stores.
Fast forward to today, makeup is part of my life and I don't mind trying out different brands. I didn't try an expensive brand from the department stores, but from sephora because the counters still intimidate me and due to other reasons. Just a few weeks ago, I drove mom, dad and bro to the mall for the first time in my life. Mom and I went straight to the Lancôme counter since she heard about the mothers day deal. The counters now seem so small and definitely isn't as bad as I thought it would be. During this trip I got the rouge in love Lipcolor and a gel liner that I haven't used yet. The rouge in love Lipcolor is a 6hr wear, a red orange color and smells like flowers. The design of the packaging is pretty decent. I didn't have to swipe it a few times on my lip for the color to show. The Lipcolor is very soft and the color didn't fade too much even after eating, so it is pretty good quality. I would love to try lancomes other lip products, but it is quite expensive so this time it's a splurge for me.
I think the quality of this product is definitely better than the quality of drug store brands. But I wouldn't give up drug store brands for high end brands yet. The quality of drug store brands are rising and I believe in always trying different things.

Acure Unscented Body Lotion

I started using acures unscented body lotion just a few days ago. This lotion is pretty decent in size and I mainly use it after a shower. I have lots of personal care products that has different scents so I decide to get a lotion that is unscented. Although this lotion is unscented, the smell of it makes me think of almond plus soy milk. It hydrates my skin well and it is made up of many organic ingredients. I would recommend this lotion for those who are sensitive to fragrances. Also, acure doesn't charge sales tax unless you live in the state where their warehouse is located in (no wonder why I wasn't charged with tax on my online order). However, their website is not as developed as the well known brands, which might be a problem for some. Either way I don't mind too much as long as their product quality is not bad :) I think they just need some time.

Personal update? - I have more time now as things are winding down. So, now I can blog and sleep more. Yesterday, I was a bit bored so I was browsing YouTube and listened to 200%. I think the song is very catchy and it got stuck in my head for a while. I wikipediaed akmu and found that they are 14 and 17 yrs old :o They are very talented indeed.

J. R. Watkins Shea Butter Hand Cream

A few weeks ago I bought J.R. Watkins' hands and feet retreat because it was on sale and so I thought why not. I have never heard of this brand before, but I'm open to try new things. The set comes with a Shea butter hand cream, foot repair salve, nail buffer and file. I haven't used the foot salve yet, so I'll discuss it in my future posts.
I started using the shea butter hand cream two days ago. This hand cream is formulated without paraben, dye, phthalates and propylene glycol. Also, it's certified 98.90% natural by the Natural Products Association (interesting) and has a lavender smell to it. I personally don't really like the smell of lavender, but I didn't read what smell it was before buying so I hoped that I would not dislike the smell. I didn't like the smell as a matter of fact after trying the cream for the first time two days ago. The smell of lavender does not really fit me I guess. However, the cream does dry relatively fast on my hands, which is a positive. I do hope that I will get use to this smell because I have admit that the texture of the cream is pretty good.

Acure Cell Stimulating Facial Mask

Over the weekend I decided to try some of acures other products and bought this facial mask. It arrived yesterday, which really surprised me. I thought it would take at least a week or so for my stuff to get here so I got to use the mask yesterday. The size of the mask is similar to my Neutrogena hand cream. I liked the fact that this mask has some many natural ingredients. Also, the directions has a bit of humor to it: "Apply evenly over your face until you look like a green sea-monster." I smiled after reading it. The color of the mask is like a forest green and the smell was peculiar. At first, it smelled like some sort of Chinese herbal medicine and then gradually I smelled gingerbread (weird isn't it?). The smell is definitely something that I've never experienced before. So after applying it to my face, I waited for about 15mins before washing it off. It harden slightly, but not as hard as the clay masks. The washing part was different too because the mask feels very smooth/slimy. Hopefully, I'll see some results the more I use it.
                                                             Do I look like a green sea-monster?

Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm

I have a habit of putting on lip balm or Chapstick right before I go to bed and I'm pretty sure it was my older sister that influenced me to do that when we were little. As I grew older, I feel like something's missing if I forget to use my Chapstick before going to bed. I used to use the same Chapstick whenever I run out, but I began trying different Chapsticks and lip balms as time went by. Last semester I was using a new lip balm and it really irritated my lips. I thought that once I get used to it, then I should be fine. However, the irritation really didn't stop. Fortunately, though, I got chance to get a new lip balm a few days ago. This lip balm is acures dark chocolate + mint argan oil lip balm.
I'm a big fan of chocolate and a new fan of argan oil so this lip balm is a combination of my two favorites. This lip balm uses organic ingredients and is also usda certified organic. Last night, I finally decided to stop using that irritating lip balm and try this argan oil lip balm. I'm not a big fan of wasting things so I struggled a bit before finally making my decision. Now, I've got to say that I do not regret making that decision. The lip balm smells exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream and made me wanting some when I first opened the cap. It feels a bit more oily than typical lip balms, but not too much that you want to wipe it off. The texture of the lip balm is very smooth and because it is oil based I only needed to apply once on the top and bottom of my lips.
Not only does this lip balm not irritate my lips, but also makes me feel better knowing that the ingredients are all organic and no weird chemicals was used. As a result, I had a great sleep last night..zzzzzzz

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

Shopping is a great way to relieve stress and make you feel good. I did a little shopping trip this weekend and got just three things. After having a rough morning, this impromptu shopping trip made my day. Of the three things that I bought, I got a bright lip color. An orangey color was what I was looking for and I found it. This lip color is Revlon's Colorburst lip butter in tutti frutti. I was deciding between this lip butter and the papaya lip butter. The papaya color looked slightly darker so I got tutti frutti instead. Revlon had many options of an orange color like lip gloss, lipstick, lip stain and more. I have never tried lip butter before, so I thought that it's a great chance to try it.
I put it on my lips within an hour of purchasing it. The lip butter is really smooth and easy to apply. I think that it's a great color for spring. The color wasn't as bright as I wanted it to be, which maybe because my Asian skin is on the tan side. I actually used it today too and it stayed on pretty well after reapplying (I had lunch so had to reapply). This lip butter would probably look better if my skin was lighter. Overall, I think I would continue to use it.

Tarte Energy Lip Tint

I actually got this lip tint not too long ago. This lip tint is travel size, which is about the size of your regular chapstick. When I first pulled the cap out, I thought that the color was too light for my lips. The color of this energy lip tint is light pink and I saw no color on my lips after putting some on one morning.  However, my lips looked like I had put on my Tarte lip luster a few moments later when I looked in the mirror. It seemed like magic. The energy lip tint actually changes color after you put it on your lips!! I was surprised and happy about my purchase :) Enjoy the little surprises in life <3

Ecotools Makeup Brush Set

I apply my eye shadows with makeup brushes because that's the way I have been doing it since I started using makeup.  There was a time when I was watching a beauty guru's YouTube videos and she often uses her fingers to apply eye shadow so I did that for a while. Using your fingers is definitely more different than brushes.  Fingers are not as precise as brushes and you have to wash your fingers between applications so the colors don't mix.  The downside about brushes is that you have to wash it often so bacteria doesn't build up and cause eye infections or something like that.  I personally prefer brushes over my fingers (ring finger) after trying both methods.  I try as much as I can to wash my brushes often.  First, I wash my brushes with soap and then use an antibacterial spray. If you do use brushes, then clean it often so bacterial doesn't cause harm to your eyes.
Since I am a fan of brushes, I picked up ecotools six piece essential eye set to try it out (also cuz it was on sale).  The brushes are soft, travel size and made from bamboo and recycled materials. Also, each brush has a label so you dont have worry about not remembering how to use it.  I really like the large eye shadow brush because it only takes one sweep to get my eye lids covered.

Nature Republic BB Cream

BB cream is a type of foundation that has SPF and is also said to be better for your skin than the typical foundations. My first ever BB cream was Nature Republic BB cream, which is a Korean cosmetics brand. This particular BB cream has SPF 46, collagen and is waterproof. I remember walking inside Nature Republic and saw the bb cream section. I picked this bb cream up and squeezed a little bit on my wrist. The color matches my wrist pretty well so I decided to get it. I have never really heard of bb cream before going to Korea, so why not give it a try? In Korea, I did hear lots of good things about bb cream. Oh and I also saw K-pop singers in commercial for bb cream too. I guess bb cream is a must try.
I think I was in Korea for about 2 weeks before I actually tried on the bb cream. I remember getting up in the morning for class and took the bb cream out to try. I applied it on my bare face without any primers or anything and thought I saw a ghost in the mirror. This bb cream was too light for my face....I guess I got a lot tanner after being in Korea. So, I didn't use it and waited until winter to try it again. Winter worked out better for me, even though the bb cream was still towards the light side. Nature Republic's bb cream is relatively smooth, but it makes my face feel a bit oily by the end of the day. Also, it can smear pretty easily. I'm still going to use it though and find ways to make it work.

Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover

This is actually my second time buying boots Botanics eye makeup remover. I'm still relatively new in using liquid eye makeup removers, so I like to buy different brands to try. Last year, I was running out of liquid eye makeup remover and I didn't want to get the same remover because it irritated my eyes. I took a trip to target and decide to try a different brand, a brand that is more natural. That was when I found boots eye makeup remover. This makeup remover is slightly priced higher than other makeup removers as like most natural products, but I still want to give it a try.
Boots Botanics eye makeup remover is oil based and thus can be messy to apply. Also, thiseye makeup  remover feels more oily than the oil free eye makeup removers as it is oiled based. However, the opening of the bottle is not too big so it's not easy to pour out too much product. I don't remember my eyes feeling a bit irritated when I used this remover.
I'm about to run out of my Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover and so I needed to get a new bottle of eye makeup remover. I went to target and picked this remover up without even thinking about other brands. Although I could have tried another brand, but I chose this remover because I know I can use it with no problem.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm: Strike a Rose

Maybelline is a well known drug store brand and I have used their cosmetics in the past. I think it was last year that they launched baby lips lip balm and I bought the one with SPF. I bought it because I want a lip balm that can protect my lips from uv rays and I've been using this lip balm all the time.
Maybelline introduced the baby lips electro lip balm with very bright colors not long after the launch of baby lips. I finally went shopping last week and decided that I want a bright lip color. I was walking down the cosmetics isle and found the baby lips collection. The electro lip balms really strike my eyes and so I got the strike a rose color. This color looked like a neon pink and I was hoping that the color would the same when I apply it. Right after I came back to my place, I immediately applied the lip balm on my lips. My first reaction was disappointment. I saw that this color is very similar to a color that I already own and is not as bright as it looks on my lips. So, I decided that it was not a great purchase.
Yesterday, I applied this lip balm again, but swiped it across my lips a few more times. This time around the pink color popped out more and didn't looked bad at all. Maybe the first time when I used it, I only applied one layer on so the color couldn't pop out. So, now I feel slightly better about my purchase. Also, this lip balm smells like berries (what a plus). My goal now is to try more bright colors (maybe I'm watching too much Korean dramas...).

Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

I started using lotion for the sake of the nice smell that they give off and I wanted to moisturize my hands. As I got older, I continued to buy lotions that smell good, but I realized that the lotions that I've been buying has no effect in moisturizing my hands. My hands were still dry and those lotions feel really oily.  It takes a long time for the lotions to dry off.
Just last year, my mom bought Neutrogena's Norwegian hand cream and I tried it when I went back home for break. She bought it because it was on sale and she said that this cream improved her  dry skin.  So, she suggested me to try putting some on. The lotion felt thick and is totally different from the creamy/oily lotion that I normally use.  I squeezed some on my hands and it dried pretty fast. I actually felt that my hands were actually moisturized. This cream can be used on your elbows, knees, face and lips. I'm so glad that I tried it because the cream works way better than the brands I normally use.

Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup

Hmmmmm, where should I start? Oh right, FOUNDATION. This word sounds so familiar and yet a bit foreign. I think I have heard the word foundation since a long time ago even before knowing what it was. If my memories were right, then the first time I became aware of the word was when I was looking through my mom's makeup box. Foundation is the tanish liquid that my mom uses every morning before heading to work. I didn't quite understood why she used it and what purpose did the foundation serve at the time.
Fast forward to 2011, I finally understan what foundation was as I tried it my myself. My sister got me a foundation set for Christmas because I told her I want some coverup to hide my acne scars. The foundation set is powder based because I have acne prone skin so liquid based foundations may make my skin more oily. I was really surprised on how different the foundation made me look (in terms of covering scars). From then on, I never stopped using that set until it ran out. After using the foundation set up, I'm left with a big question. What should I try next? As if it was fate, on my trip to Korea I tried BB cream. BB cream is the first liquid foundation that I have used (will have a post about BB experience later). Since BB cream, I tried different foundations, but none of them satisfied me. Most of those foundations either made my blackheads super obvious, coming off too fast or making my skin feel and look oily. I looked for YouTube beauty gurus to see if they had some good foundations to share. But in order to look like the beauty gurus, I realized that many steps are involved to achieve flawless looking skin. So, I completely stopped using foundation after almost two years of using it. I have been just doing my eyes and brows these past 6 months.
Today, my skin looked quite bad after not getting enough sleep in these past few days when I got up this morning. So, I decide to try foundation again since I do have some samples that I have yet to try. I picked up sample cliniques acne solution liquid makeup in hopes that it will help cover scars as well as not making my acne worst. This foundation looks like any other liquid foundation. However, it felt different when I put it on my face. The color of it matched my skin color well and my blackheads didn't seem so obvious. My skin didn't look oily nor did the foundation came off a lot after going to work, school and meeting. I think I found my match. I got pretty impressed and even thought about buying it in the near future. Just to let you know: I did use a primer before applying the foundation and finished my makeup by applying powder foundation. Recently, samples are rising in importance and I personally think that it is good to try something before buying because you never know if the item fits you or not.

Clarisonic Mia2

I have had my clarisonic mia2 for over a year by now. Wow, time really flew by fast. There are always ads in magazines on clarisonic and it presents research on how effective it is on cleaning your skin. So, I did have my eye on clarisonic for a decent amount time because I have acne prone skin and have always been seeking ways to improve my skin. It took me a while to buy clarisonic just because of the price. Clarisonic arrived on the day of my birthday and I remember how excited I was to try it. I bought the clarisonic mia2 in pink with the sensitive skin brush head. Originally, I wanted to get the clarisonic with an acne cleansing brush head, but I decided not too since the price of it was higher and I know I can buy refills. I remember reading reviews about the sensitive brush head, which touched on how the sensitive brush head was harsher than the normal brush head. When I tried using my mia2 the first time, I tried to not push it hard against my skin since I have never tried it before and because of the reviews. The brush did feel quite rough the first few times, but I gradually got used to it. Also, I did breakout after using my mia2, but then again my skin didn't breakout as much gradually. I use my mia2 3 days a week because it is an exfoliating cleanser. My usual routine after using the cleanser is to put on a mask because it exfoliates my skin so I think it would help my skin absorb better. I noticed that the cleanser opened up my pores, which made it easier for my pore strips to pull out the blackheads. The directions for the cleanser states that you can use it when showering, but I never did that. I guess I just don't like to do so much things during my shower.
Not long ago I was able to buy the acne cleansing brush heads because of my part time job. This brush head is definitely softer than the sensitive one, which I had no problem with. So, was clarisonic mia2 effective in improving my acne prone skin? I have to say that every time I use mia2, it makes my skin feel smoother. Also, I feel that it helps to clear the dirt and dead skin cells from my skin. Although I still have acne, I kept on using this cleanser because I know my acne can be caused by other factors like bad sleeping habits. This cleanser might not work for everybody as I too don't know the real results from using this cleanser (not a scientist). Everyone's beauty routine and habits differ so I would suggest to be open minded to try new things.

P.s. I really like the green color though :)

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow

I have been using powder eyeshadow ever since I started using makeup. The texture of powder is very fluffy and there's almost always fallout. Glittery eyeshadows have the worst fallouts. A few years ago I bought an eyeshadow cream pencil, but I remember it being dry and the colors weren't so good either. Therefore, I kept on using powder because that's what I'm used to. However, I buy different brands in hopes of finding powder eyeshadows with least fallouts. I have also heard that powders also emphasizes fine lines, so I want to try eyeshadows that aren't powder based.
Last year, I discovered cream eyeshadow, which is a type of eyeshadow that I've never really notice. The cream shadow was from marykay and it's really smooth and easy to apply. At first I used an eyeshadow brush, but it was just too hard to apply so I switched to using my ring finger. After using my finger, the shadow is more evenly spread and looked way better than using the eyeshadow brush. Since the beginning of this year, I've been wanting to get some more cream eyeshadow to try, but I was a little lazy so didn't really executed my plan.
Yesterday I got the chance to go to the mall and decided that it is the time for me to get cream eyeshadow. After looking around, I finally decided to buy Tarte's Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeshadow in slate. Slate has a grey tint and is sparkly. I try the eyeshadow on this morning and it was actually a bit disappointing. The opening was smaller than my marykay eyeshadow, so it was a struggle trying to use my ring finger. Also, the eyeshadow does not feel creamy at all and felt really dry and hard. After using my ring finger to apply the shadow on one eye, I finally picked up my eyeshadow brush and used it to apply the shadow on my other eye. The color is really not bad, but just the texture was the problem. Guess I have to experience with other brands to find the cream shadow for me.

Tarte EmphasEYES Waterproof Clay Shadow/Liner

When I first started using makeup, my only priority was eyeshadow. Eyeshadows are colorful and you can mix and match to apply them. It was not until my sister started using eyeliner did I notice the big difference that it can make on your eyes. Eyeliner can make you look less tired and just makes make your eyes so much prettier. However, I never tried eyeliner until high school because I didn't like the fact that I have to apply it so close to my eyes. I remember thinking to myself how bad it would be if the liner gets into my eyes. I only used eyeliner when I had to, which is the time when I was in color guard. Then, afterwards I would stick back to eyeshadow. Even when I used eyeliner, I usually just draw on my lids and not on my waterline. I didn't like it being close to my eyes and also eyeliner tends to smear when I apply it on my waterline by the end of a school day.
My relationship with eyeliner didn't improve until two years ago on Halloween. I wanted to get some inspiration for Halloween makeup and I stumbled upon a video on how to create a k-pop star look. I watched that video and I was amazed (it was the time when I was already really into kdrama). Suddenly, I want to create a k-pop look for Halloween. On that very morning, I tried my best to do what the video demoed  and applied makeup accordingly. I had an eyeliner for a while, but it just always sat on the bottom of my makeup bag. After making that look, I was so impressed on how great eyeliner can make my eyes pop out and I even got a few compliments for my look. From that day on, I never looked at eyeliner in the same way. I looked back at older pictures and compared it with pics of me with eyeliner on. Indeed, I did look more awake and my eyes looked bigger. Although I really like my look with eyeliner, there is still a big problem. Eyeliner still smears on my eyes even when I applied primer on it. So, I got determined to search for eyeliners that won't smear as bad. The road was rough and I was still not able to find a good eyeliner.
Coincidentally, I bought a small Tarte gift set last year just to get free shipping. The set had Tarte's emphaseyes water proof clay liner in bronze in it. This is definitely my first time using clay eyeliner not on a pencil. The good part about this liner is that it comes with a two sided eyeliner brush so I didn't have to go out to buy one. The eyeliner looks really sparkly and smooth. I used it for the first time last year and I fell in love with it. The eyeliner is super easy to apply and definitely lasted the whole day without much smearing. Bronze can easily go with neutral looks as well as others eyeshadow colors too. I even call it my pot of gold. I have to say though, you must use it frequently or else it will dry up pretty fast. Also, you should clean the brush at least every week to wash off bacteria and the excess liner on it. Nowadays, I literally use it every other day if not everyday. By the end of last year I couldn't help but to buy Tarte's plum color too. I'm probably a little too obsessed....

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil

Literally, two days ago I used up my argan oil and felt kind of sad. Argan oil is the first beauty oil I've ever used and it smells so good. However, this also translates to letting me try new things. I had a sample size of Tarte's Maracuja oil sitting in my room for a few weeks now and I guess it's time for me to try it. I read a little description about this oil and it's suppose to make your skin firmer and brighter. Also, it is organic and paraben free. First off, the bottle looks nice and it is tiny being a sample size. You have to push the top of the cap in order for the dropper to pick up the oil, which is quite different from argan oil. I find it a bit hard to use and the cap picks up about 3 drops of oil. Personally, I prefer the smell of argan oil more because Maracuja oil smells a little bit like plastic. I applied 4 drops of the oil on my face and it feels more oiler compared to argan oil. Then, I read through the how to use section for the oil and found that I was only suppose to use 2-3 drops. I guess I should probably read the directions for use before actually using it. I'll definitely try it with 2-3 drops probably tomorrow. I kind of assumed that Maracuja oil would be similar to argan oil since they are both oils, but now I know not to assume :)

Update: I think I found the best way for me to use this oil. First, I place the bottle on a flat surface. Then, I push the cap with some force to draw enough oil out. Next, I carefully place 3 drops of oil in a straight line on my finger. Lastly, I rub the oil with my fingers and slowly pat it on my face. This way I didn't make a mess and leave excess oil on my face.

Neutrogena Oil-free Eyemakeup Remover

Removing makeup is more important than putting on makeup. The first makeup remover that I used were the makeup removing wipes. I liked removing my makeup with the wipes because it is easy and fast. The only thing that annoyed me was that the wipes dry up too fast. Other than that, I'm all good with wipes. At some point I started using eyemakeup remover pads to remove my eyemakeup because my sister had always used them. I thought I should give it a try too. For a while, I actually liked the eyemakeup remover pads more than the wipes. I don't remember when, but the pads actually stung my eyes on this one day. Also, pads can put stree on your eye lids and create wrinkles since the eye is the most sensitive area. This really changed my thoughts on makeup remover wipes and pads. I felt like there has to be other ways for me to remove my makeup without using the wipes or pads.
Indeed, I bought my first oil eyemakeup remove while in Korea. I think it was the green tea remover from Missha. At first, I wasn't so sure about oil makeup removers, but I remember seeing people use it so it shouldn't be too bad. The oil does make your eyes feel oily, but I use a cotton pad first then wipe it better with a cotton ball. I lightly dipped the cotton pad with the makeup remover and press it on my eyes for maybe 20-30s and wipe out the makeup. Then, I would dip a Q-tip into the remover and wipe off the inner corners of my eye and also the waterline. I saw a YouTube beauty guru using this technique and I made some adjustments to fit my own need. Nowadays I rely on oil make up removers for removing my makeup.
I've been trying different oil or oil free eyemakeup removers to see which ones suit me. I have tried Missha's green tea eyemakeup remover, Target's, Clean and Clears, MaryKay's and Boot's Botonics. So far I would say that Missha's was my favoritest one. Currently, I'm trying Neutrogena's oil-free eyemakeup up remover. It doesn't make my eyes feel super oily after using this two times. So, I'm pretty good with it right now, but I'm really interested in finding more natural makeup removers. I'm already putting lots on my face and it would just be great to give my face rest.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

I bought this masque a while ago, but didn't have a chance to try it until now (been somewhat lazy). When I opened the jar, the masque has a little bit of plastic smell to it and the color of the masque is grey. At first glance, the masque looks very creamy and smooth, which is exactly what I felt as I began applying the masque on my face. Kiehl's masque doesn't dry up within minutes of application unlikethe clay pore mask that I tried earlier. Also, my face feels really cool after I was done applying. It did tighten a bit, but definitely not as tight as the clay pore mask. I left the mask on my face for about ten minutes. Then, I proceeded to rinse it off with warm water. I think that after using this masque my face feels smoother, but haven't seen any results like smaller pores or something. Again, I only tried it once, so maybe I'll see better results after a few times. Although this masque is a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way. I think that the price of this masque is not too bad if I get free shipping!
